Product Description
Although Kodiak Cakes was created in 1995, its origins go back long before. For many years, Penny Clark thought of packaging up her father’s pancake recipe and starting a business selling great tasting whole grain pancake mixes. One summer day in 1982, she decided she would mix up the dry ingredients of Grandpa's "hot cakes" recipe and sell them to our neighborhood in brown paper lunch sacks. On the outside of each sack were the mixing and cooking instructions that she had carefully handwritten. Once the sacks were all filled with ingredients, Mom helped eight-year-old son Joel load up his Radio Flyer red wagon, and sent him off to sell them to the neighborhood. In no time, Joel returned home having sold each mix. Now, nearly 30 years later, Kodiak Cakes Frontier Flapjack and Waffle Mix is sold all over the United States and remains a family business. Consumers love how light and tasty Kodiak flapjacks are. Then they are amazed to find out that the mix made with 100% whole grains with no added fat or sugar, and all you do is add water. Deep commitment to use 100% whole grains and all natural ingredients and recycled packaging will always remain with Kodiak Cakes. With Kodiak Cakes consumers can once again enjoy a healthy flapjack that actually tastes good, and pass on the lifeless creations that commonly pass for pancakes these days. A customer wrote: “Simply put, the best pancakes I’ve ever tried.”
